Work Permits

Students may obtain a work permit at 14 years old.

Work permits must be renewed annually.

Permits issued prior to June 9, 2025, will expire on August 29, 2025.
Permits issued on or after June 9, 2025:
- If a student has satisfactory grades and attendance, the work permit issued over the summer will expire on August 29, 2026.
- If the student has a GPA below 2.0 or excessive absences, they will be issued a work permit for the summer only. Their work permit will expire on August 29, 2025. This will require them to come back to their school site for a renewal.

How to Obtain a Work Permit

during the school year at the school site, beginning August 8th 2025

Please be sure you have completed the following steps prior to applying for a work permit:

STEP 1: Secure Employment. Students need to secure a job before obtaining a work permit.

STEP 2: Download the Work Permit Application. Click on the following link to download: STATEMENT OF INTENT TO EMPLOY A MINOR AND REQUEST FOR A WORK PERMIT – CERTIFICATE OF AGE

STEP 3: Complete the Work Permit Application:

STUDENTS are to complete the sections “Minor’s Information” and “School Information.”
EMPLOYERS are to complete the section “For Employer to Complete” then print and sign their name.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS are required to sign the form for knowledge and consent.

STEP 4: Students should bring their completed work permit application to the Registrar desk located in the counseling office. Applications will be processed in 1-2 school days. Students must pick up their work permit. The permit will not be released to any other person.

during Summer Break at the district office (Jun. 9th through Aug. 7th, 2025)

During Summer break, June 6th through August 7th, work permits will be issued by appointment only at the district office.

STEP 4: Request an Appointment. You must have an appointment. Work permits will be issued by appointment only during the times listed below. Appointments are 15 minutes and can be made by emailing [email protected]. The auto-reply message will provide instructions on how to set up an appointment.

Mondays & Thursdays: 9 am - 12 pm (closed June 19th)

Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 1 pm - 3 pm
