Friday, August 24, 2018: Today we started the Carnegie Learning (new textbook) online learning program called "MATHIA." This was just the start up Pre-Launch activity. But next week we will get to do some great math practice. This will be used for review & practice in class and as at home practice this year. Please ask you child to log in and show you.

Wednesday, August 22, 2018: Today we started the NEW CARNEGIE LEARNING TEXTBOOK. Parents please read the FAMILY GUIDE: Module 1 Thinking Proportionally.

Tuesday, August 21, 2018: Today we talked about how "Mistakes are PROOF you are trying." Then we worked in groups to share what we DO NOT like to hear or see when working in groups. And also what we DO like to hear & see when working in groups. Group learning is very powerful when all members work together to do their best and learn from each other.
Next the students created problems using FOUR 4's.

Monday, August 20, 2018: Today we discussed "Is everyone BORN a math brainy student?" The answer is NO. It takes practice, experience and lots of hard work to become a good math student. My goal this year is for all of my students to do what ever it takes to become a great math student. We also set up and organized the 3 ring math binder. We emphasized the importance of organization to become successful in junior high.
