January 2022 Reminders and Updates

a few reminders to begin our Spring 2022 Semester this Monday, January 10th.

Crisis Go:  Parents please remember that you will continue receiving emails every morning from Crisis Go.  These emails typically arrive in your email inbox between 4-4:30 a.m. each school day.  Students must be certified every morning so students are not delayed entering the gate.  Once parents complete the health screening, the data automatically goes to the student’s ID card.  Students will need to present their ID card (or a screenshot of the green QR code, sent by their parent/guardian) to be scanned prior to entering campus each morning.

At the end of December many students were delayed or tardy because they did not have their ID card, the green QR code, or were not certified by a parent/guardian that morning.  This sends them to a different line as we have to look them up in the computer to gain access to their green QR code or to health screen and certify them.  Students arriving close to the bell are often tardy to class if they can’t be quickly scanned through the gate.

Masks:  Please remember as a public school in LA County we are mandated to enforce the mask policies in place for the safety and well-being of all students and staff.  Students should be bringing a mask to school each day.  Students who lose or break their mask while at school are provided a mask, but we appreciate the assistance of all parents/guardians in making sure their child has a mask for school each day.  Click here if you would like to review the revised and recommended guidelines that LA County put out for the student masking.

Spring Student Schedules will be available for students/parents to view via Infinite Campus beginning at noon on Friday, January 7th. Please note that due to class sizes, requests for a different exploratory class cannot be honored.  Your child will still be on the same team for their core academic classes: English, math, history and science, but the class period for those classes may have changed due to elective and PE class sizes requiring the computer to shuffle classes.

Please have your child take a screenshot of their schedule or print it out to bring with them on Monday morning so they know where to report for A period (listed as period 1 in Infinite Campus).  If they see an error on their schedule, such as two history classes or no math class, they should report to the ASB window when they arrive on-campus Monday morning.

Please click here for instructions on how to access your student’s schedule and be sure they are logged into their “hartdistrict” google account.  Parents can also access this information through their own Infinite Campus account that was created for OLR at the beginning of the school year; click here for parent instructions.

If a parent is locked out of their Infinite Campus account and cannot reset their account, please fill out our district tech support form by clicking HERE to gain support during regular business hours.  We recommend you ensure you have access to your parent account prior to noon tomorrow so you know if you need to fill this form out as responses can take 1-2 business days.  Student tech help can be found HERE, but will likely not be reset until our staff return on Monday, January 10th.  Students needing a schedule can report to tables outside the counseling office to get their schedule as of 7:25 a.m. Monday morning.

Attendance:  With Covid-10 numbers increasing in recent weeks we recognize some students may not be able to return on Monday.  If your student has any symptoms of illness, please keep them home and reach out to our attendance technician Mrs. Jaffe by phone or email at cjaffe@hartdistrict.org You can also click to visit our district’s Student Exposure/Close Contact page for more information on what to do if your student is exposed or experiencing symptoms.  Students who are out, but well enough to work from home, should email their teachers (they can send one email to all 6 teachers’ addresses) and follow assignments on each teacher’s Google Classroom page.  Teacher email addresses can be found by subject HERE.

We know this was a lot of information, but hope you find it helpful and we look forward to returning on Monday, January 10th to welcome our students back for a great Spring Semester!
